Notching up the fourth win in a row xlan are moving up the Monday night ladder after defeating Vankershire by 4 runs.
Vankershire won the toss and elected to field, sending Fungus and Mark in to set the pace. A few unlucky runouts in the 2nd and 3rd overs reduced the run rate but they finished strongly with a solid 58. Venge and Jeremy Fish then added a tidy 66 and J and Scott finished with 75 for a team total of 199.
Defending that total looked difficult but Vankershire struggled early with one of their opening batsman retiring hurt. They kept the score ticking over and wickets were hard to come by until the 9th over when Scott got two in a row and only narrowly missed out on a hat trick.
The game came down to the wire with Venge bowling the last over under extreme pressure and Vankershire needing 7 from the last ball to win the match. Fortunately a three was all they could manage and xlan came out with the win. The six pack was again reward for our efforts as we look to keep the winning momentum rolling!
