Runs-A-Plenty Beats XLANSA Indoor Cricket Team
Well, we played the team we STILL have not beaten!
XLANSA Vs Runs-A-Plenty.
For this game we finally had a full team after giving Phantomx’s cousin a call and entering him into the ranks of the XLANSA Indoor Cricket team!
The coin was tossed and XLANSA won! We went in to bat!
First up was Venge and Scotty. A great start to their overs with 13 runs. 38 runs were added by the end of their 6 overs, bringing the total to 51.
In went Phantomx and Luke! Not the best start with Phantomx being run out first ball, but he more than made up for it by hitting a 13 four balls later. The runs came along at a slow rate and there were a few outs as Luke was still unsure about the running between the wickets.
Phantomx and Luke added 20 runs to bring our total to 71.
Next in line were Solvent and Jeremyfish. The runs came quite freely in the first 2 and last 2 overs and for the second week running Solvent top scored with 38 runs, bringing out total score to 126 for our innings.
We knew we had to keep the runs down and also take wickets if we were to win this game. There were a few occasions where our bowling went to the wayside but our fielding seems to be getting better every week. We are holding our catches and stopping the ball from touching the net.
That’s not to say there wasn’t the odd brilliant ball sent down that bamboozled the batter.
So at the end of the game, it was Runs-A-Plenty who came out the victors! 213 to 126.
One day we will beat them, and I am sure they will be more than congratulatory when we do.
