Start Time: 10:00am
End Time: 10:30pm
Cost: $10 per person entry (includes all tournaments)
$16 for entry plus a large pizza and a can of drink.
Age Limit: 15+
(any persons under the age of 15 must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times)
LAN type: Social / Tournament / Awesome fun!
XLANSA will supply: Networking equipment including switches and ethernet cables, chairs and tables.
What to bring: Xbox, TV, games you wish to play, a powerboard, and a willingness to lay down 'the boomtang'!
Please Note: Surround sound theatre speakers and external speakers are not allowed in the venue. Please consider other players and use your TV's built in speakers, or headphones. If your TV's internal speakers don't work, it may be possible to use a small set of pc speakers or the like, at the admins' discretion.
TournamentsShadowrunRecently released, Shadowrun combines team-oriented, role-based gameplay such as that found in Counter Strike, with mythical and magical elements. Picture avoiding sniper fire by casting a large tree in front of you, or resurrecting fallen friends to save you as your enemies teleport toward you. Good stuff.
As this is a recent release, we suggest that you hire the game (book it out in advance with your local video store so you can be sure it will be available) if you haven't got it already. Alternatively, it is available
pretty cheap at retail stores.
Specific details about gametypes etc will be announced soon. We believe that Shadowrun stands a solid chance of becoming the next big tournament game until Halo 3 hits.
Halo 2 - 4v4The famed 4v4 is back! Whose team will bring bring the pain? Whose cuisine will reign supreme? With loads of fresh talent popping up, this 4v4 could be anyone's chance to bring home a Boomtang title!
WormsWhat better party game is there than Worms (2D)? A timeless classic which requires nothing but the most refined, basic gaming skills. Strategy meets hand eye coordination in this lovable but volatile game. Specific details will be released on the day (you don't need to practice, people).
